National Pool Life Guard Course

The Stour Centre will be holding a National Pool Lifeguard
course at the centre on the following dates:
Course Dates:
31st October 1700-2200, 1st Nov 0900-1800, 2nd Nov 1300-1800,
7th Nov 1830-2200, 8th Nov 0800-1600, 9th Nov 0800-1500, 14th Nov
1830-2200, 15th Nov 0800-1600, 16th Nov 1300-1800 (exam day)
Cost: £205.00
The Course:
This qualification is valid for 2 years and is usually the minimum
requirement for all lifeguards who work in swimming pools. It is
divided into 2 units and awarded following the successful
completion of both. Unit 1 covers the general aspects of pool
lifeguarding including pool operation, supervision, accident
prevention and rescue skills as well as resuscitation and first
aid.Unit 2 puts the skills and knowledge learnt into practice at
the pool training venue. All of our courses include the training
and assessment of both units.
Course Requirements:
All candidates must be 16 years or over on the start date of the
course and be able to meet the following criteria:
Jump or dive into deep water, Swim 40m in 65 seconds, tread water
for 30 seconds and surface dive to a depth of 1.8m.
