Welcome to the Stour Centre

The Stour Centre was originally opened in 1975 and was at the time the most prestigious civic building project undertaken by Ashford Borough Council. It provided a comprehensive range of recreational and leisure services to meet the aspirations of the town’s growing community.

In 2004 Ashford Borough Council, after having carried out extensive consultation with residents, commenced a major remodeling of part of the Stour Centre to modernise the facility to meet the changing needs of the people today.

The remodelled centre opened on 15th September 2007 and offers a wide range of services and facilities, in particular a brand new leisure water area and Contours Health Club.

The full range of facilities are;

25metre pool, teaching pool, free form leisure water, 2 flumes and raging river

Contours Health Club with 88 stations of fitness equipment, spa, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms

8 court main sports hall

Group Fitness studio

2 squash courts

Meeting rooms

Cafeteria
